Bob,

Although posting a PM might not be a violation of the rules here at SI, this is incorrect:

Under U.S. copyright law, the contents of an e-mail or PM do not become the property of the recipient. The contents remain the property of the person who composed the e-mail. Rights of redistribution (i.e. forwarding, publicly posting) are _not_ transferred to the recipient.
