Confession: I have been moonlighting of late. In an attempt to find a way to have the best of both worlds, some time ago I started working on my own website, with the intent that eventually it could be a place for many of us to share our insights, tips, tricks, and techniques for doing what we all do here. Because of a number of different issues weighing on my time, I have found it very difficult to complete the project....but I vowed not to give up.
Over the past year I have received numerous invitations to write articles or join websites that were dedicating themselves to the art that we practice on a daily basis here. But, although many of the offers were intriguing, I found that I did not quite fit in with what they were "selling" or the content of their site........until recently.

I was a approached by the Editor, a person with a keen business sense and a concept that closely matched what I was trying to do. Furthermore, his site was largely finished and already relatively well established....but without clear direction at the time. After a few discussions, I found that we shared the same goals and ideas....it was a natural fit. A fit that saved me many hours of development and effort while still focusing on what was important to me:
Creating an online community of serious investors and traders
working together towards a common goal.
It is not about ego, large profits, becoming famous or any of the other things that drive many to do what they do .... but instead a site focused on the education, information and knowledge of each member within the community. It is not about the next "sure" trade or stock pick, but about becoming more disciplined as an investor or trader, and increasing the flow of quality information that we all need to be successful. But sure, we will pick stocks as well.....as we do here.
There are many exciting things to come at TI and I truly hope that, when we get the bulletin board software running (soon), that you will help me create this online community.
I know we have many lurkers here, and this is your opportunity to get involved as you have been wanting without, having to pay a subscription fee. I still love the SI forums and this forum isn't going anywhere. In fact, I will be trying to get us back on track like we were in January.
Potentially, we could end up exclusively at TI but I would hope that is a group decision. Finally we will have a forum that can be moderated like many have asked. The bulletin forum is a powerful, powerful tool, as many here have realized. And I want to harness that power and focus it on creating a very large and hard working group of people to help me prove the theory that there IS strength in numbers.
