mp3.com has a chance.

by th way, i saw michael robertson (ceo of mp3.com) give a presentation at an investment conference last week

and i've spoken with michael before about the z company he and friends started

at the presentation michael was short on facts and did his own q&a (in other words came up with questions he said people wanted to ask or often asked and then answered)-- that was bizarre

in the final minute a few people, including myself, asked questions
mine dealt with sellthrough -- what's the average sellthrough of an mp3.com artist

i asked because michael went on about how his outlet leveled the playing field and gives the artist 50% of every sale. that latter point is good, relatively speaking, for the artist

but if there's 6,000 artists and few selling anything that's 50% of nothing

i think it's very early for this audio format battle...mp3 has a chance but it's all in the execution and a business model that makes sense

the rvolution in music is bigger than mp3.com in my view but it has a chance to make a smash hit here
