The only thing that is keeping the US head above water vis-vis much of the rest of the world, is the willingness amongst your political elite to continue to rig the US stock market (thereby keeping your dollar strong). Without that, you would be sinking faster than a gold-filled Titanic. If that sentiment changes - and that can happen in the blink of an eye, I think you will see the US join the ranks of the rest of the world fairly quickly.

I see Japan seems to be picking up steam ... perhaps that scenario is not too far down the road.
