The Raid II was also on my short list of boats to consider; the Grand Raid is probably a fine boat but might be a little big for my purposes: I want something I can paddle as a large-volume single at times. I'll have to coax someone else in the country into buying one as well, otherwise I'll be doing the interesting trips alone - there are lots of lovely areas here that have never been paddled, partly because they were politically unstable until very recently and partly because they are so damned hard to get to. Great place to paddle, warm water all year round.
