Dave, I think we must realize it's extremely important to the authoritarians to discredit Holland's social structure. It's amazing that all the squawking about it that I've heard comes from this country, while the interviews I've read with officials of the Dutch gov't show that they're pretty happy with their system. I have a good friend who goes to Holland regularly to do cancer research. He has nothing but good things to say about the country. I realize that my examples are anecdotal (the officials could have had vested interests, my friend may only see the good side) but somehow I'd expect to hear something from the other side from inside the country if their society were really falling apart, as some folks claim. But, it's success threatens the very existence of the authoritarians, because it shows just how unnecessary the morality laws in this country are.
