PhotoLoft.com Hires International PR Firm to Handle Financial Public Relations CAMPBELL, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 5, 1999--PhotoLoft.com (formerly AltaVista Technology, Inc.) today announced that it has retained Hill Communications, an international public relations firm based in the Silicon Valley, to handle its financial public relations.
PhotoLoft.com (OTC BB:LOFT) began trading March 1 on the Over the Counter Bulletin Board.
Hill Communications has handled product and corporate public relations for PhotoLoft.com since last summer when it reached agreement with Compaq Computer Corp. to give up its AltaVista Web site address to Compaq. Hill Communications is being assisted in its public relations program for PhotoLoft.com by LF Communications.
Hill Communications also worked with PhotoLoft.com when it teamed with the Walt Disney Co. last fall in Disney's promotional campaign for its ''A Bug's Life'' movie. During a 29-mall tour throughout the country, Disney took photos of children in front of a backdrop from the movie. Those pictures were then turned into personal Web pages, which could be viewed at the PhotoLoft.com Web site.
Just recently, Hill Communications worked with PhotoLoft.com on a Feb. 12 joint announcement with the Hewlett-Packard Company that PhotoLoft.com's Web site was the first digital imaging community to offer advanced viewing and photo-quality printing of images on the Web. PhotoLoft.com uses HP OpenPix ImageIgniter and OpenPix print integrator software.
Visitors to www.PhotoLoft.com can post and view images that are printed from the Web at resolutions much greater than those available with current Web-browser printing. Users also can zoom in on, explore and pan images to take full advantage of the image's fine details and resolution using any popular browser and without special plug-ins or client software.
Hill Communications was founded in 1985 by Chad Hill. Prior to starting his own business, Hill spent two years in charge of worldwide public relations for the 700 store ComputerLand chain, and one year as a visiting lecturer in mass communications at the University of Louisville.
