Wizard,
Funny, but last time I checked, the EPS for this quarter were cut quite drastically in January. If you are trying to suggest that management was overly optimistic when these reset these downwardly guided numbers, then that is possible but unlikely. It is also interesting that your "wall street" sources couldn't get you out of the way of the miss (even Chuck P was too late to the party. "Wall Street" has that tendency (take a look at IDXC today). I guess the fact that Montgomery picks up coverage doesn't mean that Vogel must have had some indication that the quarter was lining up to hit the number?? I mean does he want blowup so close to his initial buy recommendation?
If you are telling me that the trend is your friend, you are more of a trader, than an investor (as evidenced by your December and January notes, as well as your picking up some YHOO and AMZN as nice trades). If you use the trend lines to pick your timing, that is fine, but trend lines are often late. So, if you want to wait to buy this stock on the way up, that is your call.
BTW, were you the guy quoted by the street.com in its coverage of the Robertson Stephens conference?
