Craig,
I don't think anyone can call the bottom or the top in absolute terms, but TA can help you with such things. I use a lot of different technical indicators, but mostly I try to follow price and volume. I get continuous data feeds during the day on many stocks from Interquote (http://www.interquote.com) and graph each evening using TC2000 and Windows on Wall Street. In the case of CWEI, I used a system which incorporates the Commodity Channel Index with the Relative Strength Index. When they both turn up from a low level, that usually signals the kind of move we saw yesterday in CWEI. BTW, I love good solid fundamentals like Buzz brings to the table, too. With TA and company information, you should be able to make money in the stock market.
Regards,
Gary
