<Intel Investors - Audio CD Compression Software using Pentium III Enhancements.>

Thanks, Paul. I just recently dove into the MP3 craze after the a cappella group which I used to sing with back in college sent me some MP3 files of their new music.

I remember we used to huddle around a walkman singing into a tiny microphone. The results of the recording was only for practice, but the quality of the recording itself was full of tape hiss. Plus, it was a big hassle trying to rewind or fast-forward to some specific point in the song.

I imagine that sooner or later, that walkman will be replaced by someone's laptop, which is much, much more powerful for audio recording. Recording quality is at the level of a CD (44.1 KHz), you can instantly jump to any point in the song during playback, and it's a cinch to edit the recording and apply some audio effects to it. Plus it's only a short jump to turn that recording into an MP3.

Those Pentium III enhancements can only help make audio recording and processing even more powerful.
