Tenchusatsu, OT: I recently purchased a Roland vs-840, which is Roland's lowest-end digital 8-track recorder. It too records at 44.1 KHZ and is an incredible unit when considering how long digital recording has been around. I imagine much of the functionality you are thinking of when conceiving of a laptop as a digital-recording device is contained in these units. I shudder to think of the incredible possibilities for the average consumer if Roland started slapping Pentiums(I, II, or IIIs) in these devices! Chris
