Ron,
I don't put much faith in linear regression, Just a fancy way of drawing a straight line! It is more accurate on a long term basis. Draw one from Jan 93! There is a method of using linear regression and plotting on a daily basis and getting a line that appears to be a moving average. It's not but instead the day to day change of the linear regression line of a predetermined time back to present. As it moves both the end and begining of the line moves from day to day. The end of the line is plotted for each day! Then bands which are + an - 2 standard deviations are ploted similar to bollinger bands. I haven't tried it yet but sounds interesting.

As for as coverage by investment firms I don't understand it either. You would think that with an average volume of around 400K there would be more coverage! How do they decide who to cover anyway?
