It would be nice if it could be that quick and relatively painless. Even this strong up day has relatively poor breadth. Interest rates continue to baffle those who would look only at inflation and not money supply....

It is my contention that, unless there is a Fed driven liquidity crisis, the burgeoning money supply will, longer term, raise most ships, but,short term, rising interest rates will rattle this market and those stocks which have gotten most out of hand with their PEs will suffer more than others. I further believe that, sooner or later, value must return to the market. A surprising bout of interest rate shock may well bring that on....

i think earnings will be good and better than what was forecasted for the yr.

Not for Compaq...How many other unpleasant surprises will there be if interest rates continue to sneak up?
