Paul: I am taken aback to hear that you are not excited about 'gigabuys',what's the matter withya?<g>

First of all it cost very little money for Dell to implement this operation, second of all Dell will attract a lot more customers this way and stand to gain additional business from this 'new comers'.Thridly as expected funds are not tied up in inventory.

I think if 'gigabuys' were a separate entity it could have been one of the hottest of IPOs of all time and it alone could have been worth close to a 100 bucks or more, certainly better than lot of garbage peddlers.coms, just look at their valuations.

I wouldn't be surprised if this operation generates at least 5% of the total revenue with in a year and that should have come handy if Dell had 'gigabuys' last year then we didn't have to worry about that couple of hundred million bucks shortfall in Q4.

I am also confident Dell will get additional customers (even if only a small percentage) for their core business from 'gigabuys' and thus will prove itself to be a marketing tool as well instead of being just a shopping mall of computer products. Another thing is that it could also work the other way around, a lot of people who comes just to buy computers also may turn out to be gigabuys customers.

I see 'Potential' with a capital P here, then again it is just my opinion.
