Dell: IBM deal won't hurt other suppliers in short term

Round Rock, Tex--Dell said today that its deal to have IBM supply $16
billion worth of components over 7 years will not affect Dell's other component
suppliers in the short term.

There will be "no impact this year. If there is any impact it will be
later," a company spokesman told Bridge News.
Some have speculated that other component suppliers, including Seagate and
Maxtor, would lose business as a result of the IBM-Dell alliance.
Both Seagate and Maxtor told Bridge News they didn't foresee that happening
since they expect Dell to continue to use multiple suppliers.

You have DELL confirming, and Maxtor and Seagate confirming.

So if you want to worry a few years from now.. do so.. the market isn't looking to years from now TODAY, they are looking at THIS year.
