Wayne, I would suspect that you are correct with your assumption that stock options are not counted in the gov't wage #'s. I have to review my notes for precise #s but i recall reading that wage gains are exceeding productivity gains - a further squeeze on future profits. I also linked an article recently from Northern Trust i believe where the author asks if productivity is higher than measured why does it not show up in corporate profits? - which have declined for the past 3 or 4 quarters.
