Yes, I do believe that what is said here can impact the movement of the shares of a company. There have been many articles that discuss how fund managers review the discussion threads to find out information that they may not be aware of. One company (and I forget which one) actually have set up meetings with the regular members of one of the discussion threads to discuss the company. It was similar to an analyst meeting. After the meeting the discussion on the thread was much more enlightened, and the share value started to move as a result. People understood what was happening. The company credited these meetings and the power of the Internet discussion groups with the addition of the required market cap that they needed to fully implement their plans.
