Timothy ---

The FT article wasn't posted, but the NYT interpretation of the events was. I much prefer FT's professional presentation.

Alan Lutz responded to the upcoming Siemens's announcements in his conference call with Merrill Lynch analysts on Wednesday by saying he'd talked to Roland Koch at Siemens --- about as high as you can go in the company without getting Pieri, himself --- and that Koch's comment re: the alliance becoming weaker was "rubbish" --- Alan called it "hogwash." (Technical terms.) Alan went on to say the NYT article was "questionable journalism." By way of explaining he said both companies develop technologies independently and then decide which to put into the alliance and which to keep out. When one company puts a product into the alliance, the other doesn't have to duplicate the technology but use R&D in other areas.

The next couple months should be fun. NN has five acquisitions lined up, including 4 of the affiliates, and a line-up new products to launch. Not to forget the G1 contract that's sitting in the wings.

Today's close indicates the Street is getting the message.

Cheers!

Pat
