I don't know about upward points immediately, but overall its probably good for the stock price. It means that the index funds will now be forced to buy Qwest when they make purchases for their fund. Since they must emmulate the S&P, and if Qwest is on the S&P, than it must be bought. Or sold.

However, more importantly, it legitimizes it in the eyes of major brokarage houses even more than it is.
