Another thought on gaps, while I too watch snow come down here in Michigan. Often when the market gaps up as strong as it did today it can be a good day to make money shorting. I've done this a number of times. I found that today 52% of the stocks in my database that gapped up closed lower than the opening price. Alternatively, such gap ups can be nice exit points on long positions. The opposite can be done on big gap downs (i.e. go long at the open and/or close any existing short positions). A lot depends on your trade time frame, profit objective and risk tolerance.
