Nope Joe, this story does not represent the south as a whole. A story like this or the horrible event in Texas that has been in the media creates an image that may have serious negative overtones. I promise you I can give you 10,000 stories of compassion and acceptance for the other side of the story, but you know the media just would not print it 'cause it just ain't sellable news.

Terrible things happen but it is not "a representation of general psyche".

The most tragic of economic event of my life happened in dealing with a man from NY, 7 years ago. The next year my CPA during tax review said never have business dealings with New York people. He generalized everyone there as in the same boat as the conn a got took badly with.
I almost believed him for a while until our church went to Jamestown NY and helped a local Baptist Church Group make an old dairy barn into a charming warm Church........ Those NY people hurt like we hurt, love like we love, fear like we fear, and rejoice like we rejoice.
Come on down Joe and spend a little time, it my be the good life; it may not have the comfort of NYC. But I think you will find the horrors of life in the south not as common as projected by the article.....
That young man in the article, you see as THE BIBLE explains it, he was our brother. We are mandated to care.

Shelby NC.
