The first of many stories I'm certain on yesterday's y2k global implications hearing. Read the part about the Panama Canal closely. (I don't recall hearing this in the testimony though I missed a few minutes at the beginning.) For those of you who don't know what the canal does and how it does it...well, it may not mean much. Suffice it to say that it is a VERY important link in global trade. That one sentence bothered me a great deal. My father, a retired USN officer, would have one word for this: FUBAR.
