Barron's on **Insider Selling** at Dell...
At Dell itself, insider selling understandably has been commonplace for years, as executives and directors were often tempted to cash in on the company's steadily rising share price. However, until recently, the sellers continued to hold on to sizable stakes. Lately, some have made significant dents in their holdings.
Make no mistake, not all Dell insiders are trimming their holdings materially. For instance, CEO Michael Dell's sales, despite all the attention they receive, likely are the least significant. After all, he still owns over 215 million shares. However, some lesser lights have been bailing out and, while it's too early to tell whether it portends anything important, the situation is definitely worth watching.
