Dear Susan:

Joe is a lot of fun and pretty savvy -- but to say he's "the only one who knows what he's talking about on CNBC" is perhaps the most outlandish statement made on a message board in 1999. They're a good crew at CNBC, quite professional, and certainly several are more knowledgeable about their roles and specific subject matter than is Mr. K. -- and he'd be the first to admit it, one of his nicer qualities.

Listening to the so-called gurus is interesting but not to be taken too seriously -- these "experts" always hedge enough to be right all the time -- or as I prefer to view it, wrong all the time. The truth? Interest rates rule; Greenspan rules. Period. The further truth? No one knows what's going to happen tomorrow, let alone next week. Trying to "time" the market, IMO, is a waste of time and money. The solution: Buy good stocks; wait 'til they go up; sell them. Do it again! :)
