The E4 CoolDVD card (don't you just love that name E4, sounds like something you would call a 4th generation MPEG encoder).
Look at the picture two big chips. I don't recall the Zoran AC3 chip being that big. So AC3 is integrated into the Decoder? Also supports DBS. Wouldn't ya need to change the microcode for that?
Maybe it's just wishful thinking...
E4 is the first to market with a plug-and-play DVD add-in card that will support the full DVD specification including MPEG I and MPEG II video, and Dolby AC-3 audio. CoolDVD features high-quality video with multiple language capability (8-track multilingual support), 32-track subtitle support, built-in encryption and other support functions. It has a fully integrated movie player/control interface for DVD applications including DVD-ROM and PCTV.
CoolDVD is also capable of delivering full-speed, 30 frames per second S-VHS and composite video. It comes with a software package complete with Windows 95 (and Mac OS in Q197) drivers, video capture drivers, MCI drivers and optional video/graphics editing software.
Other options include a VGC interface, a 130-channel CATV tuner board interface and a low-cost DBS/tuner board interface.
Who is E4?:
ÿOur parent company is Dooin Electronics, the number one PC card manufacturer in Korea. Dooin products have been recognized for years as the highest quality video/graphics boards available in the Asian market. Dooin's mediaCamp 7 board was the first to integrate live video, a TV tuner, graphics acceleration, PCI audio, MPEG playback, and wavetable synthesis on one standard PCI card. All for less than 400 bucks!
ÿOh, and by the way, Dooin Electronics is also one of the world's largest PC MPEG-1 board manufacturers, and one of the first implementors of the Video CD 2.0 specification.
