I disagree with you about the small towns and about the "religous".
Killings come out of hate, makes no difference black gay whatever, in places like Los Angeles(just for colors), Detroit, Dallas, and all over the world. They are ALL wrong. They are ALL hate crimes, makes no difference if gay, black, white,green, Jew, Muslim, Protestant, whatever, all hate. Would the article about the man killed(that T-mex posted) made the national press if he was not "branded" as gay? Over a years time I read of several killings in just the Dallas area alone that do not make even the front page. Wonder why?
The real "religious" have no part in these hate crimes and you need to get your head out of the tabloids and see that and quit blaming them. Instead you should be thankful that they pray for your country.If you do not believe that people care, go talk to the jury that convicted the killers of the man in Jasper, Tx. Only one black gentleman on the jury, and they convicted the killer of first degree murder, in something like 4 hours.
Take the responsibility to help and quit blaming the "religious" for everything. That is how wars start(or have you noticed?)
