Yesterday I was listening to NPR, a segment about a tech fair aimed at Japanese industries that have factories in the U.S., an attempt to get the Japanese to buy some of their items here rather than all imported from Japan. They were talking about the Japanese perception that American-made goods are shoddy and inferior. Weird. You and I are old enough to remember when "Made in Japan" meant it was junky and cheap.
