Arnie,

The Year 2000 computer concern is the wild card. If the public starts getting worked up about some disaster scenario, and the problems you mentioned are already hitting the markets, it would be hard to call the bottom.

Human nature being what it is, many will realize too late that there MAY be situations and ripple effects that have not been considered. If and when that happens, the perception, not necessarily the reality, will create havoc.
