I'm sure that mom, pop, & Joe sixpack want to sit around on a Sat. night swapping out Win98 for Linux on a removable ORB. Your PC2000 FUD is a lot easiar to type in a chat room than it is to move across the retail counter at a comp store.

Even if the so-called PC2000 becomes reality, what's to say that IOM's optical, GMR, or by that time RGMR (R for really)drives wont be in the box or usb'd or firewired in instead of your mighty ORB?

Oh yea, 2 16mb smartmedia cards are avail at the d-store for 112$, or you can buy one of Olypus's new 32mb smartmedias for 130$, or better still, Lexar is now shipping an 80mb compact flash for 329$. I'm sure that mom & pop would prefer the 329$ 80mb's instead of IOM's CLIK!
