MMV and gang: What do you suppose would happen if Sir Alan reached over and turned the "liquidity" tap counter clockwise about a half a turn? Worse, what if he turned it all the way off and then started a vacuum pump to pull part of that "liquidity" back out of the system? Would this slow the market? Would the "Bond Boyz" be a bit worried? Would the maniacs in the market even notice until it was a bit too late? The reality is that this is what appears to be occurring.
