How does one calculate "earnings" for CMGI. It seems to me that they can declare just about any level of earnings they want, depending on how much liquidating of positions they want to undertake. Or am I missing something? Can they declare earnings on the value of their portfolio? Also, if it is true that CMGI wants to keep stock price in the double digits then it would seem that a 3-1 split would make more sense. Shares would come through that with a 50-60 price and would probably take a little longer to get back into triples than if they just went 2-1.
