Hi Steve. I am responding to your previous and previous message.
AMD would not put pipelines to the K6's MMX unit, because by doing so, the processor will inevitably become more complex, thus the cost will increase. Therefore, AMD cannot compete with Cyrix. Now, what gives AMD its strength is the cheap price. Their processors are cheaper than Intel and even cheaper than Cyrix. That is my opinion.
