Fate,

As a "road warrior" myself, I can verify its a big P.I.T.A. to lug
the laptops through the airport and everywhere else. I also have had the airport security people drop it. Its a pain. I really have no problems with using it in hotels.

However, I usually stay in hotels where local calls are free. Then I can access my ISP's 1 -800 number for free and stay online as long as I want. But, for the short day trips or meetings I definitely would rather not carry my laptop. Multi-day or week trips I would carry it because I couldn't type reports or work on briefings in a semi-public area such as a hotel lobby. Kisosks will work but wont be an end all solution. At least not in this configuration.
