Mr. toad,
Ok, they sell but the stock keeps rising. These transactions mean next to nothing in terms of evaluation. I think you know that. Look at the officer's remaining holdings.
First the argument is that they sell only a portion of their holdings. However, now the argument is ok, they sell, but the stock keeps rising. Obviously, you have to agree that your statement is simply a bullish argument without fundamentals. You say to buy because it will go up and often time for no other real reason than that.
The officer's remaining holdings are diminishing. If you'll go to YAHOO site and review each of the insider's holdings, you will see that their holdings are being trimmed significantly. Aside from MD's 8 gajillion shares, the insiders are unloading 20-30% of their holdings.
Ok, let's say they have plenty of DELL shares and selling is simply one way to diversify. If they were so hot on DELL, why not BUY more shares? Why not buy the one stock they have the true insider information on? Why not stick with the one they know? If you'll evaluate the entire 1998 insider transactions, there were very rare buys. Why is that?
You know what they say about too much of a good thing? It's still a good thing. DELL insiders don't seem to have that sentiment any more.
That's my take, but obviously, you guys will put a different spin on it. Good luck. |
