Hi, may I offer an opinion here... Writing shorter calls may yield more, but with a long one you have a sure thing, and you don't incur the gain on sale till 2001...Further, there is the commish and nuisance factor involved... Also, if the stock dips, you can buy back your calls and wait for a rise and resell the calls again... Both strategies are good I think... Howard
