Keep your eyes open ...

my only point is that the "vast majority" may adopt an $80 Office Suite like Applix or a slightly more expensive suite including WordPerfect. I've never used WordPerfect but can remember when it was VERY popular. My all time favorite word processing program is WriteNow on the Mac.

Toy and I are simply pointing out some potential problems for your investment. We may be wrong.

A "free" OS is not necessarily a threat. A SUPERIOR OS could be trouble for Mr. Softie. The applications aren't there ... yet. I use Linux. I use AIX. I've used VMS, HP-UX, Apple's OS ... I don't care what OS I use as long as it doesn't crash.

It doesn't look like the whole world is going to adopt NT. We will most likely see a continuation of living with all types of operating systems including NT. This is good for NOVL and SUNW. MSFT will have a niche in the small business environment with NT.

Learning a new word processor and spreadsheet doesn't take much time. If corporate America decides it pays to ditch the $399 Office Suite ... well ... you can't say I didn't warn you.

Just stay alert. That's all. I want everyone to make money.
