talk about getting off the topic but there has been zinc production in the Sudbury Basin, not associated with the the Ni ores, but with the younger overlying felsic volcanics. There are Ni deposits associated with flows - komatiites in composition, they do show flow structure, someone mentioned the Timmins NI deposit -Redstone?? I believe this to be an example as are the famous ones in Kambalda, Australia. But most geologists would agree with a magmatic theory for Sudbury and Voiseys. Its too early to speculate on NWI unless some of the writers have seen the core??
