Scott, I'm sorry to hear of your poor experiences. Mine have been just the opposite and pretty much trouble free. I'm sure companies like Compaq and IBM put the MX/MII design through much more rigorous testing than all the do-it-yourselfers in the world combined and concluded that the chip was suitable for shipping in their systems.

I do agree that the cost/performance advantage Cyrix chips once offered has evaporated to nil. This is evidenced in the lack of systems you can buy at retail. The MXi has a chance of rectifying this, but it better start shipping pronto.
