I was looking at a few new computers today. An Activa IBM 350 MHz PII. Also IBM Aptiva 400MHz K-6. Is the K-6 chip just as good as the PII? The salesman said the IBM is still open architecture but if I work on it, that voids the warranty. It's not a great warranty anyhow. If something goes wrong I have to ship it to IBM, maybe 5 week wait, unless I buy the extended warranty which entitles me to a new computer if something goes wrong. $159.00.

The Win98 takes up 435MB on the new computers. I couldn't believe it! What could possibly justify taking so much space?
