Not to be too pick about your definitions. But a normal distribution also has some other attributes. I believe that the median and the mean are equal in bimodal distributions and under situations where kurtosis(spelling? and I'm reaching back a few years) is either too flat or too tall. Are the too of you talking about the skew of the curve..... perhaps? p.s. either I got my terms correct or I will probably be rapped on the knuckles by a bigger and wiser statistical knowitall.
