I absolutely agree with you that PCs are not comparable to Unix machines when it comes
to technical grounds. I am a software developer on unix machines and I causually use PC
at home. When it comes to who is gonna be the winner in the marketplace,
you often find that "better technology != winning in marketplace". I would love to
have a Unix workstation at home but the maintenance is too expensive for me.

A lot of people have personal data that they would want to keep on PCs;
more and more advanced games would have to be run on local CPU instead
of a networked environment. These games are one of the major reasons
people buy PCs, unix still has a long way to go to make itself a user-friendly
OS to non-technically oriented people as a huge percentage of PC users are.
Web Browser and Web servers can not replace any of Windows application
software that people need to run.

I thought that SCO (Santa Crutz Operation Corp.)(Nasdaq: SCOC)'s approach
to integrating Unix/Windows environment may have promising future but
SCOC stock price is at a very low point at this time. I would appreciate it if
you could comment on how Unix OS/servers/applications may beat Wintel standard
in the future since I used to like Novell's approach to rival Wintel by trying hard
to bring in Unix. Novell ended up failure and it may have hurt the company
so bad that it could not regain its marketplace.

Honestly speaking, I own some SCOC stocks and I am still betting on their future
success (maybe for the same reason that you believe SUN/Netscape will succeed).

Thanks.
