Kenneth,

I have noticed too that Nortel is not commonly mentioned, but I think its because Nortel is not being as aggresive at working the NDS PR as is Lucent. Lucent has already integrated NDS into their Cajun switches. So unless Nortel has also already integrated and demonstrated NDS integration - like Lucent has - then I think Nortel is behind on the NDS implementation when compared to Lucent.

Nortel has always been a bit slow in getting the latest technology out to the industry. With the Bay acquisition, I'm sure that even further slows things down as they are still likely working hard to properly mesh internal processes and organizations. So it is not surprising that Nortel is not grabbing the NDS limelight like Lucent has done recently. I am sure that if Nortel wanted to grab NDS headlights, NOVL would be more than happy to co-announce a Nortel completion of NDS integration and subsequent demonstration.

I dont see Cisco doing much more with NDS than what you had seen announced late last year. My impression is that Cisco appeased the media and their clientele's criticisms to see NDS integration to get the heat off them while they still sit idly by waiting for MSFT to be first to deliver Active Directory. Cisco has made a bad commitment to MSFT and unfortunately they have to live with the Active Directory mistake. It must tick Cisco Execs off royally that NDS is steam-rolling in the DS industry and their DS alternative sits on the tarmac waiting for takeoff. It is funny seeing the two giants tripping over each other like two bumbling fools while the rest of the industry makes more and more commitments to a very mature and robust NDS.
