Welcome to the board, Steve.

However, I want to take issue with the following statement:

"ignore the number of shares outstanding and the float"

That is a foolish suggestion. No matter how excellent any company may be, the shares OS are an important concern, since they are the only way one can calculate EPS and market capitalization.

The float remains important as well since it plays a large part in supply and demand considerations.

That said, I will agree the float and shares OS become less important as the company proves its ability to bring in revenues and profits.
