Mani,

Re: BTB

Mani, folks look at book to bill on a monthly basis.
If their book to bill for Q1 is running ahead of Q4 then this means that that overall dollar sales revenues will be higher than Q4.

This is an excellent sign as typically Q1 is slower than Q4 due to Christmas season. For example Intel has forecast sales to be slighly down for Q1.

So either units are running way ahead of Q4 or ASP's are holding firmer.

AMD may increase unit sales by 5-10% over last quarter IMHO or unit sales of 6-6.5M.

If ASPs are steady or 5% down max to $85/share that would be positive to AMD this quarter.

It is difficult to me to see how they could have a loss if units run 5-10% higher and ASPs don't decline too much.

So this report of positive booktobill is GREAT news and very significant.

This report seems to confirm excellent demand for AMD products as evidenced by the increasing pricewatch price increases for k6-2 400's.

Regards,

Kash
