Re: The FRB Again

Well.....we seem to have very different opinions and perhaps we will have to "agree to disagree".

I think that the US was created because the people were willing to question the gov't systems at the time and to hope for a better life. For this reason I think we should always keep our minds open to improvements that can be made in our gov't systems, including the monetary system. I do not agree that something is "good", "acceptable" or "optimum" just because it "is that way" or because at one point in time it was passed through congress.

"Are you saying that AG is merely a figurehead with no real power over the decision making process of the FRB?"

That is the impression I have --- either a figurehead or a silent accomplice. Unless you have total transparency about the fed ownership and decision making process, how can you know how much authority AG has?

"Well, you know what to do then. How many congressmen have you written to about this??"

I am now in the "discovery" process and I WILL write. Believe it.

"Is that all there is to it? Is inflation in the Japanese economy "bad" at this moment? "

There will be both good and negative effects. People who have worked hard to save money will have it destroyed by inflation. People who recklessly profited from highly leveraged debt system will be bailed out by inflation and loose money.

It would seem that the whole violent boom and bust cycle is caused by the expansion and contraction of fiat money. Perhaps a stable, natural money supply could help smooth out this cycle....and reduce the need to "inflate" and "deflate."

Well....that's enough for now......

Peace be with you.
