Well, I didn't actually think you were saying anything as simplistic as "If he didn't believe in God, or if he didn't believe that regardless of God he would be a worse person in his own eyes for doing something he thought was wrong, or if he didn't think it was wrong, then he'd do it." That's a lot of "ifs", E. Isn't it like saying, if we had wings, we would fly? Or if we had superpowers, we could rule the world? I mean, aren't we talking about real people, real men, with real consciences? Most of whom would no more steal a car than they would kill a child.
