Hal, try this book... I know what you mean about disengaging emotions from rationale in stock-owning and investing -- especially when we're all weathering the downtrend in price on AXC. Anyway, one book that was an eye-opener for me was "Investment Psychology Explained" by Martin Pring. It's a paperback - I think it's about $18 or so. It addresses the fear and greed issues, what makes them happen in one's mind and some techniques for coping with these. Even though the book is really practical and relevant and written as though the author is speaking to me directly, it is challenging to put his suggestions into practice. Worthwhile reading, indeed, tough. I bought my copy at a Borders in Delaware (that tiny principality state that used to be attached to Pennsyltuckey and the state in which AXC (and 10,000 other companies) is incorporated... Martin Pring is a noted Technical Analyst, writer, and advisor on Wall Street. Incidentally, Ch. 5 of the book is entitled: "Patience Is a Profitable Virtue". I need to go and reread it (AGAIN)!!!@#! Ron
