Here is my first contribution to this thread in terms of a possible pick. It seems to follow the requirements of this thread and it has been a favorite of mine, at least in terms of potential, for about a year now. And I know many of you have looked at it and played with it before. (heh)
It may be time to revisit ALYA. And here's why:

They recently announced an OEM has made a sale of their security product to a couple of government buildings in Chicago. Read the underlying message within the announcement – looked at who is housed in those buildings. Here is the link:
biz.yahoo.com
The “rumor” is that 20 more government buildings in that area may be going with the same product.
Another “rumor” is that Motorola may become a major distributor for ALYA. And that may come as early as this coming week.

I suggest calling Dale who is IR for ALYA and ask a few questions with regards to what is happening with ALYA. His phone number is: 888/595-6444

ALYA has been working on a shoestring with little income this past year. But they have set up a good network in which to sell their product. And looks like it's finally about to take off.

They haven't released numbers yet, but I believe this past year they earned some $300K and lost a couple of million. Gotta love that. This coming year it may be quite different.

Here is some info on ALYA, written up by a CFA, but I haven't been able to confirm much else.
