I am new to this thread. So far I have found it quite informative. I am currently using Action Direct and, like many around here, I am not pleased with them. I am looking around for other options and the information here is useful in my search.

I have become interested in shorting but the two times I have tried to do this with AD, they did not have shares available. Does anybody know if AD is worse than others discount brokers in this regard, i.e. do they have a policy against such a practice or is this a part of their general incompetence? I have heard that some brokerages are quite negative about shorting.

Thanks,

PP
