All / KERMS NEWSLETTER -- General Backgrounder

It's been six weeks now since I initiated the daily oil and gas newsletter. Because of the extensive content that exists with every issue, I have streamlined the newsletter with quite a few links so one can jump immediately to the area of their interest.

The newsletter is sent in MS/Word RTF format. This method allows the minimum amount of memory for the text contents. Eventually, I plan on using PDF format provided by Adobe Acrobat. The software is free to everyone for downloading. This will enable me to provide more illustrations and charts which can be transferred to subscribers rather quickly.

This weekend I provided quite a few charts using MS/Word and the file was huge and required 6-7 minutes to download. I won't be doing that anymore until installation of the Adobe software.

For those of you who have yet to see the free newsletter, just email with a request to receive it. At that point, you will be put on a temporary mailing list and you will receive a few copies automatically. At anytime after your first newsletter receipt, you can request to be put on a permanent mailing list for the free newsletter. What this amounts to is a request for the newsletter and then confirming you wish to receive it on a regular basis. I go through this process just to be assured that those receiving it -- are actually reading it.

I don't like to pat myself on the back or promote my newsletter. However, I would like to make more people aware that it is available to them. For those of you who are residents of Silicon Investor and are receiving or seen the newsletter, I would like to have you pass the word to friends interested in the oil and gas industry. If you would like to comment, please feel free to do it here or at the subject site where you participate.

Although the newsletter is focused on oil & gas, the stock market section is the most comprehensive review of yesterdays market activity. Absolutely no newspaper or information source has a single column coverage that is provided in that section of the newsletter.

The oil and gas futures section is an accumulation of daily oil and gas pricing information as well as comments and articles which impact such pricing. Because of the heavy influence of oil and gas pricing on all companies in the industry, this is important information to be constantly aware of.

The Canadian oil & gas section is my focus. I publish information regarding the industry, ongoing activities of companies, earnings reports, financial dealings, mergers-acquisitions, reserve reports and misc. info related to what's going on in the Canadian oilpatch. If it's newsworthy, you'll find it in the newsletter.

I also provide similar information for the U.S. and internationally. However, I limit info to thre areas where Canadian companies are involved. This allows for general knowledge of operations in specific areas.

For those of you reading this and have yet to see the newsletter, my email address is korner@borg.com

Thanks
Kerm
